Week 6 of the college football season brings another series of rich battles to the CBS Sports Network as conference play heats up with five league games over two days. The AAC, MAC and Mountain West will turn their attention to the gridiron after setting up a battle of teams Friday night with San Jose State host UNLV.
Saturday's marathon begins with a MAC showdown between in-state foes, Eastern Michigan takes on Western Michigan, and after both teams are off the road for 5 wins on Sunday, Tulsa travels to face Navy in the afternoon, both AAC teams trying to snap losses. . A week ago.
The evening slate featured several matchups from the Mountain West, starting with New Mexico hosting Wyoming and ending with San Diego State taking on Hawaii. Plot : UNLV has had a successful season under third-year manager Marcus Arroyo. The Rebels haven't finished with a winning streak since 2013, but are off to a 4-1 start after beating New Mexico 31-20 in last week's Mountain West opener. San Jose State opened MWC play with a 33-16 win over Wyoming in Week 5, and the Spartans outgained the Cowboys 456-253. Starting with a 3-1 scoreline, SJSU is on pace to qualify for the second time in three seasons under sixth-year coach Brent Brennan.
East Michigan to West Michigan

EMU improved to 3-2 last week with a 20-13 win over UMass, while Western Michigan went 2-3 with a 44-7 win over American foe New Hampshire. Plot : Navy's resolve will be tested after a 1-3 start to Incense in the battle for the Commander's Cup after losing 13-10 last week. Tulsa is just 2-3, but the Golden Storm have come close to losing to Wyoming in their rematch and have been competitive in losses to Ole Miss and Cincinnati in the past two weeks. Navy leads the all-time series 7-2 and 6-1 over Tulsa after the teams met in the CAA. Navy did not complete a pass in last season's 20-17 win over Tulsa.
