The show is on hold for GMA3 co-stars TJ Holmes and Amy Robach after they found out about their romance last week.
During the 9 a.m. call, ABC News president Kim Goodwin said the decision to take the reporters off the air was due to internal and external "outsides" caused by their relationship, although it was not against company policies that were violated. According to ABC News.
Joe Benitez and Stephanie Ramos replaced the duo on Monday.
On the show, Ramos told viewers that Robach and Holmes were "on vacation."
Goodwin's announcement comes days after the ABC presenters were seen holding hands and spending time together in a car, according to photos released by the Daily Mail on Wednesday.
Since both co-hosts are married to other people, the revelation of Holmes and Robach's relationship has gotten a lot of attention on social media.
Robach and Holmes have been married since 2010.
But while co-hosting the daytime show of Good Morning America with Robach on Friday, Holmes joked what a "great week" the pair had had.
"You know, it's a shame it's Friday," he said. "It's been a great week, I want this week to continue."
"Speak for yourself," Robach replied. "I'm really looking forward to the weekend."
Holmes and Robach both deactivated their Instagram accounts after their relationship was in the news.
NBC News reached out to Robach and Holmes spokesman Matthew Hiltzik, and reporters had no immediate comment.
Amy Robach previously worked at MSNBC and NBC News for nine years, and before leaving in 2012, she spent some of her time at the company co-hosting "The Weekend" with Lester Holt. TJ Holmes briefly helped secure a position at MSNBC.
