DDPAI launches the AI-powered N5 Dual dashcam for cars and the Ranger for two-wheelers

DDPAI has just launched two new dashcams in the Malaysian market, one for cars, and one for two-wheeled vehicles. The first is the N5 Dual, a dashcam that comes with an AI-controlled millimetre wave radar. Meanwhile, the Ranger is a dashcam/action cam designed for motorcycle and bicycle riders.

DDPAI N5 Dual and Ranger Price in Malaysia

The dashcam is available from the official DDPAI Lazada and Shopee stores, with the prices for each camera as follows:

DDPAI is giving gifts with each purchase – N5 Dual customers will receive a 64GB MicroSD while Ranger customers will receive a universal mount for free.

DDPAI N5 Dual Features

The new DDPAI N5 Dual is a dual-channel dashcam featuring two cameras – one facing the front (4K) and the other facing the rear (1080p). DDPAI didn’t share why the cameras are asymmetrical in resolution, but the cameras are claimed to capture crystal-clear images during the day and night using DDPAI’s RealCube and NightVIS technologies. The front camera also has a 140° Wide-Angle lens to capture more while you drive.

What is special about this dashcam is the optional AI-controlled millimetre-wave radar. It is sensitive enough to detect motion and will automatically switch to time-lapse recording if the motion continues – for example, someone is bumping into your car continuously. The mode can work up to 15 days before user intervention is needed.

DDPAI included 32GB of on-board eMMC storage, while also supporting up to 512GB microSD. There is a failover system that saves the videos to the built-in eMMC if the microSD card fails.

Like many dashcams, the N5 Dual incorporates ADAS for safety, Bluetooth to communicate with the smartphone, built-in GPS and 5GHz WiFi. There are also voice commands for features such as taking photos while driving. It also uses a supercapacitor instead of a backup battery when the car is not running.

DDPAI Ranger Features

This is DDPAI’s first dashcam designed for two-wheeled vehicles. This means motorcycles and bicycles are target markets for the Ranger. This is also DDPAI’s first entry into the action-cam market, though the Ranger is still more of a dashcam.

It has a 1.3-inch touch screen on the top side of the camera, along with shortcuts on the bottom to select modes and functions. The screen can display data related to a motorcycle or bicycle when needed. It also has a peak brightness of 700 nits.

The main camera is a 4K sensor, that has a 150° super wide-angle lens to capture more when you ride. It comes with DDPAI’s RealCube and NightVIS technologies for clear images during the day and night. It also features Triple Ride Stabilization which consists of D-Flow stabilization, horizon levelling and wide-angle distortion correction for smooth and stable videos.

Videos are saved into an onboard 128GB eMMC storage; there is no microSD support, unfortunately. On board, there are multiple sensors such as multi-mode multi-star GPS tracking, six-axis gyroscope, magnetometer, altimeter, compass and others.  It is also IP67 water and dustproof for outdoor use.

The unit is powered by a 1,600mAh battery that can be connected to external power via an optional AC Charging base for continuous operation. Mounting the unit is as easy as twisting and locking onto the camera mount, and can be released by pressing two buttons on the sides of the camera.
