Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia has revamped its subscription plans. Starting next month, users will be provided with two subscription options instead of the single 3-month plan that has been in place since Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia was launched in June 2021.
Here’s what the new pricing of Disney Hotstar Malaysia looks like
Beginning 24 April, Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia’s price structure will look like this:
- Disney+ Hotstar Basic Plan Monthly: RM24.90
- Disney+ Hotstar Basic Plan Annually: RM214.90
- Disney+ Hotstar Premium Plan Monthly: RM39.90
- Disney+ Hotstar Premium Plan Quarterly: RM79.90
- Disney+ Hotstar Premium Plan Annually: RM289.90
The Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia price hike is quite significant
As a comparison, the current Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia quarterly plan costs RM54.90 which equals to RM18.30 per month. Since existing customers will be migrated to the Premium plan starting 24 April, you are looking at a massive price increase of 118%.
Even if you compare it with the new Basic plan, you are still looking at a price difference of around 36%.
The only way to save some money with the new revamped subscription modal is by choosing the annual option as Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia said that this will save customers over 30% as compared to the monthly option. This applies to the quarterly option for the Premium plan as well.
