As announced this morning, Malaysia Airlines has cancelled several flights today between KLIA and East Malaysia due to the Mount Ruang eruption. The volcanic activity had caused unavoidable disruption to their flight schedules which affected travel plans for many of their passengers.
To minimise the inconvenience caused by the unforeseen cancellation, Malaysia Airlines is providing two options for affected passengers.
Malaysia Airlines offers one-time change or full refund
In their official statement, the national flag carrier is allowing affected passengers a one-time change to their travel itinerary free of charge. Alternatively, they can also opt for a full refund irrespective of their fare family.
Affected Malaysia Airlines passengers who wish to change their flights or cancel their travel may do so via the My Booking section on their website. Customers who require further assistance may also reach out to their live chat support on their website or call their Global Contact Centre.
To get timely updates via email and SMS, all passengers are also urged to update their contact details via My Booking on the website.
