Upgrade to the HUAWEI Pura 70 Series to experience these 5 features!

This post is brought to you by HUAWEI.

For this year’s flagship model, HUAWEI has taken a different approach by updating its nomenclature and forming three different variants. The HUAWEI Pura 70 Series consists of the HUAWEI Pura 70, the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro, and the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra. Each is catered to different individuals, offering flagship tier specs at various price points.

There are many areas that HUAWEI improved on when designing the HUAWEI Pura 70 Series. But here are the 5 features that significantly impact your experience when you upgrade to the HUAWEI Pura 70 Series.

An innovative camera mechanism

To offer you the best mobile photography experience possible on its flagship, HUAWEI has upgraded its X-Mage camera system on the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra with the Ultra Lighting Pop-out Camera for the primary camera. It uses a large 1-inch sensor with a resolution of 50MP and features a telescopic mechanism for the camera lens, allowing it to extend outwards.

By doing so, it allows the light to expose the entire area of the 1-inch sensor. When not in use, the lens sits flush with the camera housing. Launching the camera app will trigger the lens to pop out. But don’t worry if you accidentally drop the phone while shooting as the lens will immediately retract, minimising damage to the mechanicals.

Besides that, the camera also features a variable aperture from f/1.6 to f/4.0 and sensor-shift optical image stabilisation. All these components, combined with advanced computational photography produce some truly stunning images.

The other cameras include a 50MP Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto Camera using an f/2.1 aperture and featuring optical image stabilisation as well. Rounding off the system is a 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

Meanwhile, the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro and HUAWEI Pura 70 get a primary 50MP Ultra Lightning camera with a variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0 and optical image stabilisation. There’s also a 12.5MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an aperture of f/2.2 on the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro and a 13MP unit on the HUAWEI Pura 70.

For shooting distant subjects or portraits, the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro employs a 48MP Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto camera with an f/2.1 aperture and optical image stabilisation. On the other hand, the HUAWEI Pura 70 uses a 12MP telephoto camera with an f/3.4 aperture and optical image stabilisation.

Portrait Photography prowess

HUAWEI has always been proud of the portrait photography prowess of its flagship smartphone. With the HUAWEI Pura 70 Series, it aims to take your portraits to new heights thanks to refined camera hardware and software.

There are two ways you can shoot portraits on the HUAWEI Pura 70 Series. The first is by using the Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto Camera on the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra and HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro, and the telephoto camera on the HUAWEI Pura 70.

Due to its focusing distance, the telephoto camera on these devices can take beautiful portraits with a natural shallow depth of field in the background.

Alternatively, you can use the Portrait Mode to apply a bokeh effect in the background if you choose to use the main camera or your subject is too close to the background.

Using XD Motion Engine, the image processor can separate the subject from the background more accurately. Not only that, but this mode also utilises the XD Motion Engine to better reproduce skin tone and colour.

Capture objects that are fast or small

One of the biggest issues with capturing moving objects is motion blur. So HUAWEI has tuned the cameras on the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra and HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro to capture fast-moving objects with minimal motion blur. How fast? Well, the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra can capture objects moving at speeds of 300km/h while the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro can do up to 200km/h.

So if you watch live-action sports like football, racing, athletics, and so on, and like to photograph these events, you’ll be able to capture the fast-paced movements more clearly with the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra and HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro. This capability also allows these phones to photograph relatively slower-moving subjects more clearly like energetic pets and kids.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are tiny objects hiding details that are invisible to the naked eye. The Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto Camera on the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra and HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro can shift its focal distance to shoot macro photography. Super Macro mode allows you to observe and shoot these fascinating tiny structures and components.

Vivid HUAWEI X-True Display protected by a new Kunlun Glass

All three variants of the HUAWEI Pura 70 Series come with a vivid HUAWEI X-True Display.

For those looking for a more compact size, the HUAWEI Pura 70 features a 6.6-inch LTPO OLED display with an adaptive refresh of up to 120Hz and 1440Hz PWM dimming.

If it’s a larger screen you’re after, then the 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display on the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro and HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra will fit your needs. These screens curve into the aluminium frame on all sides and feature an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz and 1440Hz PWM dimming.

To protect these beautiful displays, HUAWEI has placed them under more durable 2nd generation Kunlun Glass that is 20 times stronger compared to the previous generation. The exception here is the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra which gets a tougher Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass. So abuse from common mental objects that people carry like keys and coins is not a source of concern.

Powering the phones are a 5,200mAh battery for the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra, a 5,050mAh battery for the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro, and a 4,900mAh battery for the HUAWEI Pura 70. Recharging these batteries shouldn’t take long as well since they support 100W HUAWEI SuperCharge.

Additionally, the HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro and HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra get blazing-fast 80W wireless HUAWEI SuperCharge and 20W reverse wireless charging.

More secure HUAWEI AppGallery

With more and more services needing apps to access their features, app security has become important. We have multiple banking and financial apps, digital ID apps, and even private documents.

As such, the HUAWEI Pura 70 Series comes with an improved HUAWEI AppGallery running on EMUI14. It now features an updated malware and virus scanner that extends to all apps on its platform. HUAWEI assures you that the apps you download from the AppGallery have been verified to be secure and is safe to install.
