Introduction
Rupal Rana was born in Baghpat District of Uttar Pradesh and attended school there. For her graduation, she attended Ramanujan College of the University of Delhi, where her subject was Mathematics. After that, she started preparing for the Civil Services Examination. Her father is an ASI in the Delhi Police. This was her fourth attempt. She could not clear the Prelims in her earlier attempts. She finally cracked this examination on her fourth attempt and achieved AIR 26. Her Optional Subjects were Political Science and International Relations.
Strategy
For Prelims, she first focused on completing her static part, and for that, she relied on fixed resources rather than multiple resources. She revised it multiple times. She also gave many mock tests, analyzed them, and revised them again, which helped her improve and eliminate the options in the examination. She also made online notes of keywords for prelims.
For current affairs, she read the newspaper every day, and apart from that, she also followed a monthly magazine. All these helped her to express her thoughts very naturally in her interview.
For Mains, she made short notes on every subject and revised them thoroughly according to the syllabus. She also referred to some essential government websites, which helped her in addition to her notes.
She also made a lot of notes for her interview preparation.
She stressed the importance of completing the Optional subject first, as it is the deciding factor. She also emphasized the importance of analyzing the previous year’s question papers. Apart from that, she focused on revising the syllabus wholeheartedly to improve her preparation.
She did not take any coaching for the GS part; she only took it for the optional part. She also focused on increasing her peripheral knowledge. She identified some important themes and made notes of them, which helped her in many subjects.
Hobbies
Rupal has hobbies such as watching movies and doing cardio exercises.

She emphasized the importance of qualitative studies instead of quantitative studies. She also sent a message to aspirants to remain dedicated to the goal, be persistent and determined, and not give up; this way, they can achieve their goals.
