Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has confirmed that the new Astro Bot-themed DualSense wireless controller for PlayStation 5 will be heading to Malaysia soon. In the announcement by Nicolas Doucet who is the Studio Head of Team Asobi, pre-orders for the controller in Malaysia will kick off on 9 August.

The DualSense controller is a living character inside the game

In case you are wondering, no, those eyes couldn’t blink.

In the game, the main character which is called Astro Bot will be flying around on a DualSense wireless controller. So, the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense controller is a physical manifestation of the “flying device” but of course, the real-life version is not able to fly.

Priced at RM399, the controller which will be released on the same day as the game itself, features the same blue-white colour scheme as Astro Bot. There is also a pair of robotic eyes on the controller’s touchpad.

To be released on 6 September, Astro Bot is the follow-up to Astro’s Playroom which was the game that came pre-installed on every PS5 and served as an interactive tech demo for the console as well as the DualSense controller. However, the new game is much bigger in scale as it has over 80 levels.

The new game retains a lot of major elements from its predecessor including being a 3D platformer game and plenty of references to the PlayStation hardware. Numerous PlayStation characters will appear in the new game too such as God of War’s Kratos and Aterus, Aloy from Horizon’s universe, and Nathan Drake of Uncharted’s franchise.

In case you missed it, SIE has also recently announced the availability of the Sony PlayStation Portal for Malaysia. Available this October, it allows gamers to play their PS5 remotely over a Wi-Fi network.
