Tesla Malaysia has announced its expansion to Penang with the opening of its new Tesla Service Centre. Located at Seberang Jaya, the new Penang Service Centre will also double as a delivery location for new Tesla owners in the Northern region to collect their cars.

According to Tesla Malaysia, the newly launched service centre is also equipped with a Body & Paint workshop. It added that it aims to provide enhanced service facilities for Tesla owners in Penang and the Northern region of Peninsular Malaysia while ensuring that all service needs and requirements of their customers are handled efficiently.
Tesla Malaysia will be making its first EV deliveries in Penang on the 12-13 September 2024 at the service centre. According to Tesla, new Tesla customers in the Northern Region can choose to collect their cars in Penang instead of coming down to the Tesla Centre in Cyberjaya.
In case you missed it, Tesla Malaysia is currently running a campaign for the Tesla Model Y Performance, where customers can enjoy Tesla Direct delivery to any location in Malaysia. On top of that, they are also offering up to RM30,600 discount and free Universal Mobile Connector, but these offers are only applicable for Tesla Model Y Performance units in their inventory.
Tesla V4 SuperCharger in Gurney Plaza
As part of its EV charging network expansion plan, Tesla Malaysia has also launched its new V4 SuperCharger location at the B1 car park of Gurney Plaza on Penang island. There are a total of four DC charging stalls which are capable of delivering up to 250kW. A quick 15-minute charge can provide up to 270km of range for a Tesla Model Y.
At the moment, these chargers are exclusive for Tesla vehicles only and owners can activate and pay for these chargers without using any apps or payment cards. The Tesla Supercharger is priced at RM1.25 per kWh which is among the most affordable in the market. To mitigate hogging, Tesla SuperChargers impose an idle fee of up to RM4 per minute if you don’t move the vehicle after charging is completed.
To date, Tesla Malaysia currently has a total of 12 Supercharging locations with a total of 56 chargers. They also offer 13 Destination Charging locations with a total of 69 AC charge points, which are currently still free until further notice.
Tesla added that they will continue in putting effort in expanding the comprehensive charging infrastructure in Malaysia to meet the growing demand for Tesla charging solutions.
