Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is celebrating the 30 years of the PlayStation console in a big way by introducing the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. Consisted of several limited edition console bundles and controllers, some of which will be released in Malaysia.
What made the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection special?
In general, the new collection is a tribute to the first PlayStation console that was released in Japan back in December 1994.
Hence, that is why all of the products within the collection are draped in the console’s grey colourway. In addition to that, the PlayStation logo on these products is also painted with the logo’s original 4 colours instead of being just grey or black as per the standard version.
On the PS5 Digital Edition and PS5 Pro, you can spot the PlayStation 30th Anniversary label in between the top and bottom faceplates. For PS5 Pro, there is also a serial number next to the label as only 12,300 units (a reference to the release date of the original PlayStation console) will be made available throughout the world.
There is also another special 30th Anniversary logo on selected sections of the console, DualSense and DualSense Edge. The PlayStation Shapes on the face buttons of the DualSense, DualSense Edge, and Portal Remote Player are painted in the same colours that you would find on the original PlayStation controller.

Leading the list of limited edition PlayStation 30th Anniversary products that are coming to our market is the PS5 Digital Edition Bundle. Alongside the console, here is what you can find inside this limited edition bundle:
- 1 x PlayStation 30th Anniversary DualSense wireless controller
- 1 x Disc Drive cover in matching colourway (you still need to buy the Disc Drive separately)
- 1 x Vertical Stand
- 1 x USB-C cable with a connector housing in the style of the original PlayStation controller connector
- 4 x PlayStation Shapes cable ties
- 1 x PlayStation sticker
- 1 x PlayStation poster (1 of 30 possible designs)
- 1 x PlayStation paperclip
Meanwhile, you can also get the DualSense controller by itself in Malaysia or you can also opt for the more advanced DualSense Edge controller. Not to forget, the 30th Anniversary version of the PlayStation Portal Remote Player will be available here as well.
All of these products will be released in Malaysia on 21 November and gamers can pre-order them through official PlayStation retailers starting 26 September. However, their pricing will only be revealed once the pre-order kicks off at 10 AM tomorrow.
PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary is Singapore-exclusive for this region
Now, how about the 30th Anniversary edition of the PS5 Pro? Well, it is a more beefy offering as it includes a PlayStation 30th Anniversary DualSense Edge wireless controller and DualSense Charging Station in a matching colourway on top of all of the extra things that the PS5 Digital Edition bundle offered.
However, the PS5 Pro bundle will only be released in Singapore. For Malaysian gamers, they have to settle for the standard PS5 Pro which will also be available for pre-order starting tomorrow.
