Charge Point Operator ChargEV has deployed a 400kW DC Fast Charging station at Eco Galleria at Iskandar Malaysia in Johor. Equipped with a total of 6 bays, these are one of the fastest EV chargers in Johor apart from Johor Premium Outlets.
Similar to Aeon Mall Shah Alam, ChargEV has deployed a Kempower DC charging solution at Eco Galleria with a total capacity of 400kW and each nozzle can push up to a maximum of 320kW.
The 6 DC charging bays are located at the outdoor carpark near the ramp that connects to the elevated indoor carpark of Eco Galleria. Similar to other high-power DC charging sites, these chargers are priced at RM1.60 per kWh and you can activate them via the ChargEV app.
Configured with dynamic power sharing, the total 400kW capacity is shared across the 6 nozzles depending on the vehicle’s state of charge and demand. This means you should be able to hit your vehicle’s maximum DC charging rate easily if there are fewer EVs plugged in and if the vehicle’s battery is at a lower state of charge.
While the DC charging rate of RM1.60 per kWh is quite high, you can enjoy a discounted rate of RM0.80 per kWh if you sign up for ChargEV’s Yearly Essential plan which costs RM788 per year. Besides offering a 50% discount on all AC and DC chargers on ChargEV’s network, you’ll receive RM50 in free charging credits monthly via your ChargEV wallet.
If you link your debit or prepaid cards on the ChargEV app, take note that the operator will be introducing a RM150 pre-authorisation amount for in-app payments effective 2nd October 2024. According to the announcement made today, the pre-authorisation amount will be charged upon activation and the unused balance will be refunded in 2-14 days depending on your bank.
