BMW Group is expanding its electrified Mini offerings in Malaysia with the addition of the new Mini Aceman SE. The new model is the third fully electric model to be launched under the brand after the 2024 Mini Cooper SE (J01) and Mini Countryman All4 SE earlier this year.
Its arrival in Malaysia was confirmed through a post on Mini Malaysia’s Facebook and Instagram pages on 5 October. The new model then subsequently appeared on Mini Malaysia’s website this morning.
Mini Aceman SE Malaysia pricing, warranty, colourway
According to the online configurator on Mini Malaysia’s website, the Aceman SE is priced at RM213,888. The price tag has also been confirmed by the latest Mini Malaysia price list that was published on the website.
Every Mini comes standard with a 2-year warranty. However, you can add the Extended Warranty & Service Package for an additional RM7,400 which would extend the warranty and cover all the necessary scheduled servicing for 4 years with unlimited mileage.
Hence, the Aceman SE price tag would increase to RM221,288 once you include the optional package. The EV is also accompanied by a 5-year roadside assistance that includes a 24/7 hotline, free towing services, replacement vehicle, and many more.
The online configurator also noted that the Aceman SE can be obtained in Malaysia with Rebel Red, Melting Silver, and Indigo Sunset Blue. It also has 19-inch Hexagram spoke wheels and a black roof alongside a Vescin-based leatherette interior in a Dark Petrol colourway.
What is Mini Aceman SE?
In general, the Mini Aceman is positioned between the compact Cooper SE and Countryman All4 SE which is the largest member of the Mini family. Equipped with 5 doors, the Aceman is generally for those who feel that the Cooper SE is too small for them but don’t want to go all the way with the Countryman All4 SE.
While the Aceman was developed through a collaboration between BMW and Great Wall Motor (GWM), the model is not based on any of GWM’s existing EVs. Instead, it was built on the same bespoke EV platform as per Cooper SE J01.
The Aceman is generally available in two variants but similar to Cooper SE J01, BMW has opted to release the higher-end SE version in Malaysia. So, our market received the version with a more powerful 160kW (214hp) electric motor that also produced 330Nm of torque.
It takes around 7.1 seconds for this particular EV to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h and can hit a top speed of 170km/h. In addition to that, the Aceman SE also has a larger 54.2kWh battery that allows it to deliver up to 405km of WLTP-rated range.
In terms of charging, Aceman SE supports DC charging speeds of up to 95kW. For AC charging, the EV has been fitted with an 11kW AC onboard charger but despite being co-developed with GWM, the Aceman SE does not have a Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) feature.
Mini Aceman SE already arrived at Mini dealerships
BMW Group Malaysia has also revealed that customers are now able to view the new Mini Aceman SE at all Mini dealerships starting from today onwards.
For those who prefer to check it out outside of dealership settings, the new EV will be making its public debut tomorrow, 9 October at the Mini Roadshow in The Exchange TRX. The Aceman SE will be on display there until 13 October before embarking on a tour to other major cities nationwide.
On a related note, don’t forget to check out our first drive experience with Aceman SE’s other siblings, the Cooper SE and Countryman All4 SE.
