Zotac is among several major hardware players that have been hit by the handheld fever which resulted in the creation of the Zotac Gaming Zone. Originally launched at Gamescom 2024 back in August, the handheld gaming PC is now available for pre-order in Malaysia.

The new Zotac Gaming Zone will be released in Malaysia with just one configuration which is inclusive of an onboard 16GB LPDDRX memory and an M.2 2280-based 512GB NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 solid state drive. In terms of pricing, it can be obtained for RM3,899 starting from 13 December 2024 onwards although you can pre-order the handheld gaming machine through authorised Zotac retailers nationwide.
Pre-order and early bird customers will be provided with a free carrying case worth RM189. They also have the option to purchase a Zotac Gaming Zone docking station for RM199 instead of its original RM289 price tag and this offer will only last until 31 December while stocks last.
Zotac Gaming Zone Malaysia quick specs
Running on an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U APU which also comes with an AMD Radeon 780M GPU, the Zotac Gaming Zone features a 7-inch full HD AMOLED touch display. The HDR-ready display offers a 120Hz refresh rate alongside a maximum brightness level of 800nits.
In terms of controller apparatus, the Zotac Gaming Zone comes standard with Hall effect analogue sticks and 2-stage adjustable triggers which Zotac said not only enhances precession but also helps prevent drifting.
Meanwhile, there are also radial dials under the analogue sticks which allow gamers to adjust system settings quickly. The Zotac Gaming Zone also has a D-Pad with clicky microswitches as well as a pair of trackpads and macro buttons.
Together with the support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, other features that you can find on this Windows-based portable gaming machine include two full-speed USB4 ports, microSD card slot, down-firing stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack, a built-in microphone and a 1MP front-facing camera. Not to forget, there’s also a built-in kickstand and customisable RGB lighting strip on its back.
In terms of battery, the Zotac Gaming Zone has been fitted with a 48.5Wh 3-cell lithium-ion battery. Zotac didn’t list down the handheld’s battery life but don’t expect it to go beyond 1 to 2 hours if you are playing games with heavy graphics.
