Proton e.MAS 7 quick specs
Regardless of whether you choose Prime or Premium, the e.MAS 7 comes with only one powertrain option which delivers 160kW (215hp) alongside 320Nm of torque. It allows the EV to go from 0 to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds and provides a top speed of 175km/h.
Powered by an Aegis Short Blade LFP battery, the range for both variants does differ though as their battery capacities are different from each other. The base-spec e.MAS 7 Prime has a 49.52kWh battery which allows it to deliver up to 345km of WLTP-rated range as opposed to the high-spec e.MAS 7 Premium carries a 60.22kWh battery pack and has a WLTP-rated range of up to 410km.
Their DC charging speed is also different as the Prime maxes out at 80kW while the Premium can be charged much faster at up to 100kW. That being said, both e.MAS 7 Prime and Premium are equipped with an 11kW 3-phase AC onboard charger alongside 3.3kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and 6kW Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) capabilities.
When it comes to the interior section, the e.MAS 7 features leatherette seats alongside a powered driver’s seat and a two-spoke steering wheel with antibacterial properties. The new EV also has a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.4-inch 2.5K infotainment touchscreen that is running on a 7nm automotive-grade system-on-chip and Flyme Auto operating system.
6 airbags come as standard on the e.MAS 7 together with an auto headlight, Active High Beam Control, rain sensor for the front wiper, and a 360-degree camera. A first for a Proton model, both e.MAS 7 variants have a fully-loaded Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite as standard too.
The ADAS suite includes features such as Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Dynamic Brake Support (DBS), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Emergency Lane Keeping Assist (ELKA), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RCTB), and Traffic Sign Identification (TSI). Hence, its no surprise that the e.MAS 7 has been awarded a 5-star rating by ASEAN NCAP.
Proton e.MAS 7 Prime vs Premium
Aside from the battery capacities, range, and DC charging speed, there are still several more factors that differentiate the e.MAS 7 Prime and e.MAS 7 Premium.
They include the fact that the Prime has 18-inch wheels and comes with Giti GitiControl P10 (Pro) 225/55 tyres. As for the Premium variant, it has 19-inch wheels and Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance SUV 235/50 tyres.
For those who are mindful of their in-car audio experience, the Premium has a Wanos 16-speaker audio system powered by Flyme Sound. This is opposed to the Prime version which was equipped with a 6-speaker audio system.
Not to forget, e.MAS 7 Premium also has several exclusive features including a panoramic sunroof with sunshade, power tailgate, active grille shutter, auto-dimming rearview mirror, powered seat for the front passenger, memory function for driver’s seats, and ventilated front seats. It also has 256-colour ambient light, a head-up display (HUD), and a front parking sensor.
