Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim: Here’s what Samsung’s new thinnest flagship phone looks like

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is set to be unveiled during the Galaxy Unpacked event that’s scheduled on 23rd January 2025. As speculated since last year, the Korean smartphone maker is expected to release a new model in the lineup that’s said to be the Galaxy S25 Slim.

As the name implies, the Galaxy S25 would be the slimmest Samsung flagship phone in the series and we now have a better idea of what it looks like thanks to high quality renders from serial leakster @Onleaks.

In terms of design, it looks like any other Galaxy S series flagship smartphone with its typical candybar design with rounded corners and ultra-thin bezels. Even the camera array at the back is typical Samsung with a protruding triple-camera lenses aligned on the left. The same applies as well for the volume rocker, power button, USB-C port and speaker grill.

According to details shared via SmartPrix, the Galaxy S25 Slim is only 6.4mm thin which makes it the thinnest modern day Samsung flagship smartphone. However, it is worth noting that this isn’t the slimmest Samsung Galaxy smartphone yet. That title is still held by the Samsung Galaxy A8 from 2015 which measures at 5.9mm thin.

In terms of display, the Galaxy S25 Slim is said to feature a 6.7-6.8″ display which is close to the current Galaxy S24+ and S24 Ultra. However, there’s still no details yet on the battery size and it would be interesting to see if Samsung would introduce a new high density battery which can deliver all day battery life without the bulk.

When it comes to its photography capabilities, Samsung is said to feature a 200MP main camera with Isocell HP5 sensor, a 50MP JN5 ultra-wide angle lens and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. To enable long-range optical zoom in a smaller form factor, the S25 Slim is expected to use a new All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) design which puts the lenses in front of the prism rather than behind it. In a nutshell, the ALoP design allows Samsung to shrink the size of the telephoto camera module which eliminates the need for a raised camera bump.

Similar to the rest of the Galaxy S25 series, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, mated with 12GB of RAM.

While the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to be announced next week, the device would likely to be released several months later. The common flagship trio – Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra, are expected to be released sometime in the first week of February 2025.
