U Mobile’s eWallet service, GoPayz will be closed down on 31 March 2025. The telco originally launched the service back in 2019 with the aim to make financial services more accessible, affordable, and inclusive.
GoPayz differentiates itself from other eWallet services at that time by offering virtual and physical payment cards instead of just QR-based payments. Not only that, customers get access to three payment networks including Mastercard, UnionPay, and Visa for maximum flexibility.
Aside from that, consumers were able to obtain other services from GoPayz including personal accident, life, and motor insurance. It also offers unit trusts, currency exchange, telco prepaid top-ups, parking, zakat payment, and many more.
Here’s how to get your GoPayz e-wallet balance back
As noted earlier, you have to request account closure to get the remaining balance in your GoPayz e-wallet account. You can submit the request directly through the GoPayz app or fill out this form and send it over to GoPayz by e-mail.
If everything goes well, the refund will be transferred to your bank account within 7 business days. For customers who did not close their accounts by 31 March, they will have to file an appeal with the Registrar of Unclaimed Moneys to get their hands on the leftover balance although this option will only be available from 5 January 2026 onwards.
Meanwhile, GoPayz users have also been asked to redeem their GoPointz by 31 March. Naturally, all GoPointz will be automatically forfeited after the deadline date.
