EV owners can now enjoy cashback for EV charging at selected Shell Recharge locations in Klang Valley until the end of June, thanks to a new collaboration between Shell Malaysia and Visa. In addition to that, EV owners are also able to receive credit rebates for topping up credit into the ParkEasy app.
Here’s how you can get cashback with Visa cards at Shell Recharge
Shell Malaysia began offering credit and debit card payment options for EV charging last year starting with Shell Recharge Pavilion KL. Powered by Sonicboom Solutions, the card payment option has since been made available in Pavilion Hotel KL, Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Pavilion Damansara Heights.
Under the new promotion, you are able to get 10% cashback on EV charging if you pay for the charging fee with Visa credit or debit cards at these locations. Do note that the maximum amount of cashback that you can get for this promotion is RM5 for each charging session.
In addition to that, be aware that there is a pre-authorisation amount of RM150 every time you pay for EV charging using the card payment terminal.
ParkEasy x Visa credit rebate: How does it work?
As for the credit rebate on ParkEasy, users have to perform a minimum top-up for 50 credits which costs RM54 inclusive of SST. They will then receive a 10% credit rebate in the form of a promotional code via e-mail within 24 hours.
They have to input this code before 7 July 2025 into the Free Credit section of ParkEasy in order to redeem the credit rebate. Users can only receive up to 5 credit rebate codes every 24 hours regardless of the top-up frequency that they made within the same period.
Established in early 2014, ParkEasy became part of Shell Malaysia after the oil and gas company acquired a 50% stake in the company behind the platform, PixelByte. Its stake in ParkEasy was then increased further after PixelByte’s then-CEO, Warren Chan sold off his share to Shell Malaysia in April 2024.
