Ikea Malaysia officially launches a dedicated online store for customers in Sabah and Sarawak. The world-famous Swedish furniture retailer promises that the newly established e-commerce destination will still offer East Malaysian customers the same pricing as West Malaysia.
However, only selected products are available through the new Ikea East Malaysia Online Store. Nevertheless, the company said in this FAQ that the e-commerce platform features a curated selection of up to 2,000 Ikea products which is not too shabby.
How to access the Ikea East Malaysia Online Store?
There are generally two ways to access the new Ikea East Malaysia Online Store with one of them being this direct URL address. The second method is by choosing the store selector located on the top right menu of Ikea Malaysia’s website and pick the East Malaysia Online Store option.
New facility in Kuching supports the Ikea East Malaysia Online Store
At the moment, Ikea has yet to establish any physical store in East Malaysia. So, how was the company able to fulfil orders that are coming from the Ikea East Malaysia Online Store?
Well, Ikea Malaysia’s e-commerce expansion to East Malaysia is made possible by the new Central Fulfilment Centre in Kuching. It is responsible for packing, assembly, and deliveries of orders made through Ikea East Malaysia Online Store which helps reduce the delivery time for customers in Sabah and Sarawak.
For now, customers in East Malaysia can choose to pick up their orders at the Ikea Collection Point Kuching which is located at the Hexagon High Transport in Jalan Demak Laut. Do note that there is a fee of RM10 attached to this option.
Ikea Malaysia also offers delivery and assembly services to selected areas within Sabah and Sarawak. For parcel delivery, the fee starts at RM10 while the fee for truck delivery is RM49 and if you want Ikea Malaysia’s crew to help assemble your new purchase, the fee would be 10% of the product’s price.
