PlayStation Network (PSN) is currently down for gamers worldwide. For those in Malaysia, this may have hampered their game time for the entire Saturday and may stretch into Sunday since the service is still offline as we speak.
The first indication of trouble took place at 8:12 AM Malaysian time when PlayStation Japan posted a downtime notice on X. It was then followed by PlayStation US through a brief tweet on X at 9:46 AM Malaysian time which acknowledged that some users may have problems accessing PSN.
Fast forward to 11:15 PM Malaysian time, PSN is still down according to PlayStation’s official website. This applies to all major aspects of PSN including account sign-in, account creation, editing account details, game streaming, and PlayStation Store. According to the timestamp on the website, all the service went down at 8:00 AM Malaysian time.
PlayStation Asia went radio silence
Despite the chaos that came with the global PSN outage, there was no mention of it by PlayStation Asia so far on any of its social media channels. Given that PlayStation Asia is the go-to official reference for all things PlayStation in Southeast Asia, the radio silence seems odd.
Nevertheless, we’ll continue to monitor the situation. For all PlayStation gamers out there, hope your weekend predicament will be over soon.
