Pro-Net, the subsidiary of Proton, has held its first-ever Proton e.MAS Pioneer Teh Tarik Sesh last Saturday. This is the EV brand’s first public engagement with Proton e.MAS 7 pioneers to gather feedback and to share latest updates for its first ever EV.
The session also aims to build an engaging Proton e.MAS community where owners are encouraged to share tips and challenges of their EV journey so far.
Pro-Net to address e.MAS 7 concerns with upcoming OTA update

During the two sessions, the Pro-Net team has acknowledged the valuable feedback received from its customers through discussion groups and forums, and they are committed to addressing them in their upcoming over-the-air (OTA) software updates. This includes the ability to restore customer settings after restarting the vehicle and addressing feedback about the “ice cream truck” sound during low speed driving.
According to the product team, they will be offering multiple pedestrian warning sounds including the ability to turn it off. On top of that, they have also addressed several bugs including intermittent 4G connection issues.
The Pro-Net team also also assured that Apple Car Play and Android Auto support will be coming soon to the e.MAS 7 and they will also introduce more apps for the infotainment system.

To keep the Proton e.MAS 7 up to date with the latest bug fixes and features, the product team has also shared tips and recommendations to ensure a smooth OTA update experience. They assured Proton e.MAS 7 owners that they are able to drive their EVs while downloading the latest software update and the installation can be scheduled after midnight to minimise disruption.
Pro-Net committed to ensure seamless EV ownership and charging experience
For greater peace of mind, Pro-Net has also highlighted its warranty policy which include a 6-year/unlimited mileage warranty for the vehicle and a 8-year/160,000km warranty for high voltage battery.

As an EV, the Proton e.MAS 7 has significantly lower maintenance requirements compared to traditional internal combustion engine powered vehicles. After the initial 3-month/5,000km service, the Proton e.MAS 7 only requires to be serviced once a year/20,000km, whichever comes first.
Based on Pro-Net’s latest pricing as of December 2024, the total estimated scheduled service including labour for the first 10 years is RM3,711.80. The only scheduled replacement parts and items include the cabin filter, reduction gear, brake fluid and motor coolant.
To address range anxiety and EV charging concerns, Pro-Net is proud to have an integrated EV charging experience via its Proton e.MAS app. This eliminates the need for customers to download multiple EV charging apps and they can discover, activate and pay for EV charging with one single app. The integrated live map on the infotainment screen allows drivers to be aware of their estimated range and locate suitable chargers along the route.
Pro-Net currently has 6 charge point operators (CPOs) on board which currently covers 1,942 charge points in the country. Customers will be able to access even more chargers over time as Pro-Net is working on integrating more CPOs while the EV charging infrastructure continues to grow in Malaysia.

The SoyaCincau.com team was also present to share their findings about driving the Proton e.MAS 7 long distances during the weekends and public holidays. Besides being a comfortable and value for money fully electric SUV, the Proton e.MAS 7 is also an EV that’s very easy to drive efficiency.
Pro-Net is looking forward to organising more engagement sessions like this to ensure continuous improvement of the e.MAS ownership experience.

The Proton e.MAS 7 has emerged as the most popular EV in Malaysia at the moment with 421 units registered in January 2025. Pro-Net has secured over 4,000 bookings through its Proton e.MAS dealerships nationwide and it aims to be a formidable player in the EV segment.
In case you missed it, the Proton e.MAS 7’s RM4,000 launch rebate has been extended to cover 6,000 customers. The base e.MAS 7 Prime variant is offered for RM105,800, while the Premium variant with the larger battery is offered for RM119,800.
