Apple has released its newly updated entry-level iPad which is also known as the iPad (A16). Besides getting an upgraded chip, the 11th gen iPad now gets double the storage and it is also more affordable than before with a starting price of RM1,599. The full specs and Malaysian pricing has been revealed but it is still listed as coming soon on the official Apple online store.

For Educational pricing in Malaysia, the WiFi model starts from RM1,509 while the Cellular model starts from RM2,209.
The pricing for the 11th gen iPad is significantly lower than the previous generation 10th gen iPad which starts from a paltry 64GB storage and ran on an older A14 Bionic chip. As a comparison, the previous iPad launched in 2022 with 64GB storage was priced at RM2,099 while 256GB option was going for RM2,849. Now you can get the latest model with 256GB storage for less than RM2,000.
The new iPad still comes in 4 colours – Blue, Pink, Yellow and Silver.
iPad (A16) 2025 Key Specs and Features

Besides the upgraded processor, the rest of the iPad remains mostly unchanged when compared to the previous model. Since it runs on Apple A16, the iPad still doesn’t support Apple Intelligence.
It still gets an 11″ (previously referred to 10.9″) Liquid Retina display that pushes 2360×1640 pixels resolution and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. The overall design is still the same and it retains the same 7mm thickness while weighing 477g for the WiFi version.
The iPad still features the same 12MP f/1.8 wide camera that can shoot 4K videos, while the front retains the same landscape 12MP centre stage camera. There’s also landscape stereo speakers and it supports Touch ID that’s integrated on the power button.

In terms of connectivity, it supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, while the Cellular version supports Gigabit LTE as well as sub-6GHz 5G. It is also worth pointing out that the cellular version of the new iPad only supports an eSIM as it doesn’t offer a nano-SIM slot. On a full charge, it still boasts up to 10 hours of web surfing and video playback.
The new iPad supports the first generation Apple Pencil (RM449) as well as the updated Apple Pencil with USB-C (RM349). For a computer-like experience, you can also add the Magic Keyboard Folio which costs RM1,149.
For Educational pricing, the Magic Keyboard Folio is offered for RM1,049 while the Apple Pencil (USB-C) is offered for RM299.
