XPeng X9 is now officially in Malaysia as the second XPeng release for our market. The new 7-seater premium electric MPV arrived in Malaysia just six months after the brand’s local partner, Bermaz XPeng launched the G6 SUV.
XPeng X9 Malaysia pricing, colourways, warranty
For Malaysia, the new XPeng X9 electric MPV has three options and here is the on-the-road (OTR) pricing, not including insurance:
- XPeng X9 Standard Range 2WD Pro: RM270,708
- XPeng X9 Long Range 2WD Pro: RM288,708
- XPeng X9 Long Range 2WD Pro Plus: RM300,708
Regardless of the variants, customers can choose to obtain their new X9 in either Nebula White, Crescent Silver, or Dark Night Black. They can also choose to have the MPV’s interior in Moon Shadow Brown or Starry Night Black.
Each XPeng X9 in Malaysia comes standard with a 5-year / 120,000km vehicle warranty alongside an 8-year / 160,000km warranty specifically for its high voltage battery and electric motor. Customers are also provided with free scheduled maintenance for 5 years or the first 100,000km, whichever comes first.
XPeng X9 performance, battery, range, charging specs

Despite having three different variants, all XPeng X9 for the Malaysian market have a front-wheel drive (FWD) setup which features a 235kW (315hp) electric motor that produces 450Nm of torque. Even though it may have a gigantic footprint, the MPV is able to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds alongside a top speed of 200km/h.
However, they are powered by different types of battery packs as the X9 Standard Range (SR) relies on an 84.5kWh LFP battery while both X9 Long Range (LR) models are running on a 101.5kWh NMC battery. This is why the WLTP-rated range for the X9 SR is slightly lower at 500km as opposed to the X9 LR which is able to deliver up to 590km of range.
This affects their AC charging time too even though all three X9 models are equipped with a 3-phase 11kW AC on-board charger. According to XPeng, it takes around 9.5 hours to get the X9 SR from 5% to 100% while the X9 LR variants take slightly longer at 11 hours.
When it comes to DC charging, all three X9 models take around 20 minutes to get from 10% to 80%. The X9 SR can support DC charging speed of up to 283kW while the X9 LR can go up to 317kW – all thanks to the MPV’s 800V architecture.
XPeng also didn’t forget to provide the X9 with a 3.3kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) system which allows the MPV to act as a “power bank” and power external electrical appliances.
XPeng X9 is physically longer than other premium electric MPVs

Physically, the XPeng X9 is longer than its close rivals such as the Denza D9, Zeeker 009, and Maxus MIFA 9. It also has a significant amount of boot space even with its third seats still up.

XPeng X9 is loaded with tech features

Aside from being spacious, the XPeng X9 has been fitted with plenty of tech features. For one, the car’s infotainment system is running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processor.
There are multiple displays within the MPV including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, a 17.3-inch infotainment display, and a ceiling-mounted 21.4-inch screen for the passengers at the back. The XPeng X9 is also equipped with a 23-speaker 7.1.6 XOpera audio system that is paired with a 2,180W amplifier.
Meanwhile, XPeng has also utilized the NVIDIA Drive Orin-X processor to power the X9’s XPilot Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Leveraging on 15 sensors and 12 cameras, the system is not only capable of delivering Level 2.5 autonomous driving but also plenty of other features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centring Control, Adaptive Turning Cruise, Active Lane Change, and many more.
Just like the G6, the MPV also comes standard with Enhanced Auto Parking Assist. Owners can use the Auto Exit Parking Assist through the XPeng mobile app to help bring out the X9 from tight spaces.

Other notable features that are available as standard with X9 include 6 airbags, an active rear-wheel steering system, and dynamic dual-chamber air suspension.
XPeng X9 LR Pro vs Pro Plus – what are the differences?

As noted in the price list above, the X9 LR can be obtained in two versions: Pro and Pro Plus. Both options have the same performance, range, and charging capabilities – so why is there a RM12,000 price difference between them?
Well, the X9 LR Pro features leatherette seats as opposed to the X9 LR Pro Plus which features Nappa leather. In addition to that, the Pro Plus also comes with a built-in fragrance system and dual 50W air-cooled wireless chargers.
That being said, we believe the main differentiator between them would be the Zero Gravity seats on the Pro Plus version. These seats offer 18-way adjustments, a 6-mode massage function, and a 1-click Zero Gravity posture activation.
