Almost 5 months after it was first previewed to the public, the JAC T9 EV is now officially available in Malaysia. As noted before, the T9 EV is the first electric 4×4 pickup in Malaysia and so far the only one available in our market.
JAC T9 EV Malaysia pricing, colourway, warranty
For Malaysia, the JAC T9 EV is available in a single variant with an on-the-road (OTR) price tag of RM199,888 not inclusive of insurance. This is in line with what JAC Motors’ local partner, Evolvelectric Motors promised last year that the electric pickup truck would be released in Malaysia for under RM200,000.
In terms of colour options, there have been some changes to the information that we received 5 months ago. According to the latest catalogue from Evolveelectric Motors, the T9 EV can be obtained in Red, Black, Grey, Silver, and White.
Meanwhile, the interior for the T9 EV has now been standardized to Black regardless of the exterior colourways. No changes to the high voltage battery warranty though as it is still listed as 6 years or 200,000km, whichever comes first.
JAC T9 EV quick specs

Previewed today alongside its diesel-powered twin, the JAC T9 EV dual-motor setup delivers a total power output of 230kW (308hp) alongside a total peak torque of 516Nm and a top speed of 140km/h. Powered by an 88kWh LFP battery that was sourced from CATL, this 4×4 electric pickup truck is able to provide up to 340km of WLTP-rated range.
Charging-wise, the JAC T9 EV can support a DC charging speed of 88kW which allows its battery level to go from 30% to 80% in 35 minutes. As for AC charging, it takes around 6 hours and 50 minutes to charge from 15% to 100% through its 3-phase 11kW AC onboard charger.

The electric pickup truck also features a 10.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also a 7-inch digital instrument cluster for the benefit of the driver alongside a 50W wireless phone charger, 64-colour ambient light, USB-A ports with output as high as 18W, and a 60W USB-C port.
Back in October last year, we were told that this EV would likely come with a full-fledged Advanced Driving Assistance System and a 360-degree camera. Unfortunately, the finalised version does not come with these features.
That being said, the T9 EV for Malaysia still has 7 airbags alongside a variety of driving assistance features such as Rear Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Door Open Warning. This electric pickup truck also comes with Hill-start Hold Control, Traction Control System, Electronic Stability Control, Hydraulic Brake Assist, Vehicle Dynamic Control, and Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians.
JAC T9 EV vs T9 Diesel – what are the differences?

Aside from the electric version, Evolvelectric Motors has also officially launched the diesel variant of the JAC T9. Both of these models looked identical to each other but there are a couple of differences between them which you can spot without opening their hood.
Aside from the label on their tailgates, the JAC logo on the front grille of the T9 EV is in blue while the diesel model is in red. Aside from that, the T9 EV is equipped with Chao Yang SU318a H/T tyres while the diesel-powered T9 has Toyo Open Country H/T Z although both variants still run on 18-inch wheels and 265/60 tyres.
Not to forget, the diesel variant of T9 also has price tag of RM119,888 which is significantly lower than its EV counterpart.
