Asus ROG Phone 9 FE in Malaysia specs and features

The Asus ROG Phone 9 FE is very much recognisable, sporting a similar design language as its more expensive and powerful siblings. You also get ROG’s signature AniMe Vision on the back of the phone which boasts 341 programmable mini-LEDs, giving the phone a distinctive flair. The capacitive Air Trigger buttons are here too.
At the face of the gaming phone, you get a 6.78″ Full HD+ Samsung flexible AMOLED display that pushes out a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, along with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz.

Under the hood of the ROG Phone 9 FE is Qualcomm’s flagship mobile chipset from the year before – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 – which although less powerful than the most recent Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, is certainly no slouch.
In the imaging department, you get a triple rear camera setup. This consists of a 50MP f/1.9 camera with a 1/1.56” Sony IMX890 sensor and a 6-axis gimbal OIS system, a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide shooter, and a 5MP f/2.4 macro snapper. Using the rear camera setup, you can capture videos at resolutions of up to 8K at 30fps. As for selfies, you get a 32MP f/2.5 front camera.

To enhance your gaming experience, the ROG Phone 9 FE is equipped with AI-driven gaming features such as AI Grabber 2.0, X Capture 2.0, and X Sense 3.0. Alternatively, the ROG Phone 9 FE can be paired with gaming accessories like the Aeroactive Cooler X which can be purchased separately at RM349. Audio-wise, Asus has packed the ROG Phone 9 FE with a stereo-speaker setup and has chosen to retain the trusty 3.5mm headphone jack.
Keeping lights on is a 5,500mAh battery which Asus claims can last you for at least 3.4 hours with heavy gaming, and at least 23 hours with video streaming. Charging can be done via USB-C at 65W or using a Qi wireless charger at 15W.
Durability hasn’t been forgotten either, as the ROG Phone 9 FE is rated at IP68 for water and dust resistance. In terms of software, the “budget” gaming phone runs on ROG UI, built atop Android 15.
