The Smart #3 has officially made in debut in Malaysia and this is a fully electric SUV coupe that’s bigger than the Smart #1. Ahead of its official launch, Smart Malaysia is now accepting bookings for its upcoming EV model and you can do it online via your smartphone.
Smart #3 Pro, Premium and Brabus are now available for booking in Malaysia
For Malaysia, the Smart #3 is offered in three variants – Pro, Premium and Brabus. To secure your unit, you can book by placing a refundable RM1,000 booking fee via the Hello Smart App which is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
So far Smart Malaysia has not provided specific availability dates but the official Smart #3 launch is expected to take place within the next quarter.
Smart #3 Exterior and Interior Colour Options in Malaysia
For the Smart #3, there are more colour options available in Malaysia, especially for the interior of the Pro and Premium variants.
For the Smart #3 Brabus, there are 5 exterior colour options – Photon Orange, Meta Black (with Radiant Red roof), Atom Grey-Matte, Atom Grey-Matte (with Radiant Red roof) and Digital White (with Eclipse Black roof). Meanwhile, the interior gets a single Brabus option with an all-dark interior with some Alcantara micro-fibre touches on the seats and steering wheel.
For the Smart #3 Premium, there are 6 exterior colours – Digital White, Ceramic Cream, Future Green, Electron Blue – Matte, Cyber Silver and Quantum Blue. However, for the base Smart #3 Pro, you only get two colours – Digital White and Meta Black.
Unlike the Smart #1 which only comes in a single Black and White interior, the Smart #3 offers two options for both variants. The Smart #3 Premium can be configured with either Vibrant Brown with a dark interior and brown seats, or Infinite Black, which gets a lighter interior and black seats.
Meanwhile, the Smart #3 Pro comes in Infinite Black which offers a light-coloured interior with black seats, and Infinite Grey which has a dark interior with grey seats.
Smart #3 Malaysia Key Specs and Features
The Smart #3 shares the same motor and battery configuration as the smaller Smart #1. However, due to its more aerodynamic shape and lower drag coefficient of 0.27cd, the #3 is quicker and offers slightly more range.
The range-topping Brabus gets a dual-motor AWD setup which offers 315kW (422hp) and 543Nm of torque, and it can do 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds. It gets a 66kWh battery which offers a WLTP-rated range of 415km on a single charge.
Meanwhile, the mid-spec Premium model gets a single motor driving the rear wheels and it delivers 200kW (268hp) and 343Nm of toque. It can do 0-100km/h in 5.8 seconds. It also gets a 66kWh battery and it offers up to 455km of WLTP-rated range. Both the Premium and Brabus versions support a class-leading 22kW of AC charging and it does DC charging up to 150kW.
The base Pro model also gets the same motor as the Premium but the battery is smaller at 49kWh but uses an LFP battery pack instead of an NMC unit. The base unit offers 325km of WLTP-rated range and it supports a slower single-phase 7kW AC charging and 130kW of DC charging.
