Huawei has announced the new MateBook 14, their latest mainstream thin-and-light ultraportable laptop. Featuring the latest Intel silicon under the hood and a gorgeous, high resolution, high refresh rate display, the MateBook 14 is currently up for pre-orders in Malaysia with plenty of freebies for early birds too.

Huawei MateBook 14 Malaysia pricing and availability

As mentioned earlier, the Huawei MateBook 14 is already available for pre-order in Malaysia via the Huawei Malaysia website. The pre-order period will last till 28 June with deliveries beginning 29 June onwards, and you’ll be able to choose from two configurations of the MateBook 14:

  • Huawei MateBook 14, Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD – RM5,499
  • Huawei MateBook 14, Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD – RM4,999

For those of you who do pre-order a MateBook 14, Huawei will also be throwing in free gifts worth up to RM1,614 which include a copy of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021, a backpack, a wireless mouse, a 3-in-1 printer, a laptop stand and a 1+1 year extended warranty.

Huawei MateBook 14 specs

The Huawei MateBook 14 hasn’t changed much in terms of design, maintaining a simple and minimalistic wedge-shaped chassis design that weighs in at 1.31kg and measures 14.5mm thick. That body houses a 14.2-inch OLED touchscreen display in a 3:2 aspect ratio that pushes a crisp 2.8K resolution. The display is also capable of a 120Hz refresh rate, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and a peak brightness of 450nits.

Powering the Huawei MateBook 14 are Intel’s latest Meteor Lake processors, with your choice between the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H and the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H. They get mated to 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, with integrated Intel Xe graphics and Windows 11 Home pre-installed. Unfortunately—or fortunately—there’s no dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard here on the MateBook 14. All that silicon is kept cool with Huawei’s new dual Shark Fin fan system that they claim increases air volume by up to 40%.

You’ll also find a USB-C port, two USB-A 3.1 Gen 1 ports, a HDMI port and a 3.5mm audio jack for I/O, with support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless connectivity too.
