First gaming smartphone in Malaysia with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Leading Version”

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Leading Version” is basically an overclocked variant of Qualcomm’s current top-of-the-line mobile processor. The CPU runs at a higher 3.4GHz while the GPU is boosted to run at 1GHz. The device is mated with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

According to RedMagic, the 9S Pro recorded the highest AnTuTu score on an Android smartphone with 2,369,542 points. Despite the boosted performance, RedMagic says the device is still remarkably energy-efficient.

RedMagic 9S Pro Malaysia Specs and Features

The RedMagic 9S Pro still gets a 6.8″ AMOLED display with BOE Q9+ panel that pushes 2480×1116 pixels resolution. It boasts a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of up to 2000Hz and up to 1600 nits of maximum brightness. For better eye care, it also has 2160Hz PWM+DC dimming.

Keeping the processor cool for sustained performance is an upgraded ICE 13.5 Magic Cooling system with a 22,000RPM turbo fan inside the phone, a new frost cooling gel and a 10-layer setup. RedMagic claims it can reduce CPU core temperature by up to 19.5 degrees Celsius while increasing cooling efficiency by 20%.

In terms of cameras, it has a triple-camera setup featuring a 50MP main camera with Samsung GN5 sensor and OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 2MP depth camera. For selfies, it gets a 16MP under-display camera at the front. It is worth pointing out there are no camera bumps on this gaming phone as the lenses are flush with the back panel for a very sleek look.

The RedMagic 9S Pro still gets a pair of stereo speakers and retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. Since this is a gaming phone, you still get touchpad shoulder triggers and a game space switch, complete with RGB lighting.

The RegMagic 9S Pro still gets a huge 6,500mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging via USB-C. With such capacity, RedMagic reckons that it could last over 2 days with regular usage and it takes 35 minutes for a full charge with an 80W fast charging brick.
