After years of waiting, Google Pixel is finally coming to Malaysia. So far, three retailers and two telcos have confirmed Pixel 9’s imminent arrival in our market and looks like they will be joined by Lazada as well as Shopee.
Google Pixel Store is already online on Lazada and Shopee
A Google Pixel Store has just been established in Lazada Malaysia. We have no clue at the moment who actually runs the store, but there is a Lazada Flagship Store label attached to the Google Pixel Store which provides it with a healthy amount of legitimacy.
There is also another online Google Pixel Store located in Shopee Malaysia. It has the Shopee Mall label which is reserved for brand owners and authorised distributors.
However, no products have been listed for sale at any of these online stores. Of course, this does come as a surprise since the upcoming Made by Google launch event will only take place on 14 August.
Here are the official Pixel retailers and telcos in Malaysia so far
As noted earlier, three big names have been confirmed as the official retailers for Pixel 9 devices including Urban Republic, Senheng, and senQ. Not only that, Senheng and senQ are offering instalment plans with a duration of up to 5 years (60 months).
As for telcos, the new Pixel 9 devices will be available from CelcomDigi and Maxis. It is not known at the moment whether other telcos will be able to offer Pixel products at a later time.
Based on the marketing materials used by all five companies so far, Pixel 9 Pro will be available here. Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL will most probably be released here too as both devices together with Pixel 9 Pro have been listed on the SIRIM database.
On the other hand, Pixel 9 Pro Fold was not listed there though. So, its release status in Malaysia is still up in the air.
