PolicyStreet free road tax promo is happening from 28 to 30 August

Local insurtech company PolicyStreet will be offering free road tax to its customers later this month. This offer is open to everyone who renewed their car insurance through the company’s online platform, regardless of whether they are first-time or returning customers.

No price cap on the free road tax offer

What made PolicyStreet’s upcoming offer rather intriguing is that there is no ceiling price on the road tax fee that customers can claim from the company according to the promo’s TnC document. In other words, PolicyStreet is willing to cover your road tax regardless of how high or low it is going to be.

Available from 28 to 30 August, there is one more thing that PolicyStreet’s announcement and the promo’s TnC didn’t cover though. According to the press note that the company has sent to SoyaCincau, the upcoming free road tax offer is available only for the first 500 customers who renewed their car insurance PolicyStreet.

To get your hands on the free road tax, all you need to do is check the Road Tax Renewal option in the Add-ons section at the checkout page when you purchase or renew your car insurance on PolicyStreet’s website. If you want to have the physical road tax card delivered to you, there is a handling fee of RM15 though.

Despite the company’s attempt to become an official partner with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) for road tax renewal service, we were told that the Ministry of Transport (MoT) have yet to respond to the application made by the Khazanah-backed insurtech company.

Hence, PolicyStreet is currently relying on MyEG to provide road tax to customers. Specifically, physical road tax delivery will be handled by MyEG although the digital version will be sent to the customer’s email.

PolicyStreet also said that customers will receive their road tax within 1 work day if they purchase or renew it during working hours. Else, the delivery will take place on the next working day.
