Yoodo is officially gone. So what’s next for existing users?

After 6 years in operation, Yoodo as a brand is officially discontinued. This well-loved digital telco brand is known for value-for-money plans which are fully customisable through an app. The move to discontinue Yoodo is due to the undertakings committed to the MCMC to overcome anti-competitive concerns of CelcomDigi’s merger.

All Yoodo platforms rebranded to CelcomDigi (formerly Yoodo)

Yoodo as a brand no longer exists as the digital telco has been rebranded to CelcomDigi effective today, 30th August 2024. As shown above, the Yoodo website (yoodo.com.my) still works but is now branded as CelcomDigi.

If you launch the Yoodo app, you will be forced to update it on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The Yoodo app is now simply known as “Formerly Yoodo” and it carries the CelcomDigi logo.

The main difference is that usual animated Yoodo loading screen has been replaced with CelcomDigi. Everything else about the app remains unchanged and you can still manage and customise your plan as usual including buying Boosters and Roaming Pass.

What happens to existing Yoodo users? Can new users sign up?

As we’ve covered previously, Yoodo has stopped accepting new registrations on 19th June 2024. CelcomDigi has assured that existing Yoodo customers can continue with their existing service with no interruption as they transition to CelcomDigi.

However, the move to CelcomDigi is merely for branding purposes as current Yoodo users are still able to stay on their existing plan which includes its popular RM20 for 20GB 5G data offering. In case you missed it, Yoodo had provided 10GB of free data as a parting gift to its loyal users. If you want to continue with the current perks, be sure to keep your line active as you won’t be able to sign up for a new SIM if it gets terminated.
