Vivo X200 series unveiled in China with Zeiss tri-camera, 120Hz LTPO AMOLED, Dimensity 9400

Vivo has just unveiled its X200 series smartphones in Beijing China, featuring three models, namely the Vivo X200, X200 Pro, and the X200 Pro Mini. Design-wise, they look like facelifted versions of the previous-gen X100 series. Still featuring the circular camera hump at the back, the Vivo X200 series come with glass panels at the front and back, wrapped with aluminium alloy frames.

The Vivo X200 and X200 Pro sport curved glass panels at the front and back, while the X200 Pro Mini is fitted with flat glass panels instead with its rear featuring a frosted surface.

At the face of the Vivo X200 is a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The X200 Pro and X200 Pro Mini on the other hand come with Full HD+ 6.78-inch and 6.31-inch panels, featuring LTPO AMOLED technology with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. All of these displays have a peak brightness of 4,500 nits and are enhanced with Zeiss Natural Colour for more natural colour reproduction.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip with up to 16GB of RAM

At the heart of the Vivo X200 series is the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC. Built on a 4nm process, the chip is built in collaboration between Vivo, ARM, and MediaTek. All devices can be had with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

As mentioned above, the Vivo X200 series features a huge circular camera hump on the back, which houses a tri-camera setup with Zeiss optics. Specifically, the Vivo X200 is equipped with a 50MP f/1.6 main camera, a 50MP f/2.6 telephoto camera, and a 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide sensor.

The Pro models on the other hand offer a 50MP f/1.6 main camera with a 1/1.28″ Sony LYT-818 sensor and Vivo’s V3+ imaging chip, as well as a 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide sensor.

However, the main upgrade here is the new 200MP f/2.7 Zeiss APO telephoto camera on the Vivo X200 Pro, taken from the X100 Ultra. Meanwhile, the smaller X200 Pro Mini gets a 50MP f/2.6 telephoto camera.

Remember the V3+ imaging I mentioned above? Thanks to its existence, the Vivo X200 Pro series is capable of recording 4K HDR Cinematic Portrait videos. These smartphones can also film 4K HDR Dolby Vision at up to 60fps, or up to 120fps for cinematic slow-mo, as well as “full focal range” 4K in 10-bit Log at up to 60fps. Not to be forgotten also is a 32MP f/2.0 selfie shooter offered throughout the Vivo X200 range.
