Xiaomi SU7 is now in Johor Bahru

Xiaomi SU7 recently made its first official appearance in Malaysia during the Xiaomi 14T roadshow at Suria KLCC. The company did not mention where the EV heading after its stint in KLCC but as it turns out, the SU7 has since made its way to Johor Bahru.

According to the anonymous tipster, the EV is currently on display at Aeon Mall Tebrau City. The tipster didn’t provide additional context but judging from the sole image that was sent to us, it appears that the SU7 is there in conjunction with the ongoing CelcomDigi Tech Fair.

The event will last until this Sunday, 27 October according to Aeon Mall Tebrau City’s official Facebook page. The SU7 was not even mentioned in the promotional material, so this came as a total surprise.

In case you are wondering about the EV’s availability in our market, Xiaomi Malaysia has made it clear during SU7’s time at Suria KLCC that the EV is not for sale in our market for the time being. Its appearance in Malaysia is merely just for tech showcase similar to what Tesla Malaysia did with the Cybertruck.

Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun once said that the Xiaomi SU7 was designed to deliver the same level of performance as per Porsche Taycan and also offer intelligent technologies inspired by the Tesla Model S. Despite being a new player in the market, the EV was developed in less than 3 years and was a runaway success when it was launched in China as Xiaomi is still having a hard time to keep up with the demand.

The version that was displayed in Suria KLCC and now in Aeon Mall Tebrau City is the SU7 Max which Xiaomi claimed is quicker than the Porsche Taycan Turbo. This is due to its 0-100km/h timing of just 2.78 seconds alongside a top speed of 265km/h.

The SU7 Max also features a Boost Mode which provides full access to the EV’s 838Nm of torque for 20 seconds. It also comes with Launch Control mode alongside active aero and adjustable rear wings.

Equipped with a 101kWh CATL 800V battery, SU7 Max can deliver 800km of range although this figure is based on the rather lenient CLTC standards. Xiaomi claimed that it takes just 15 minutes of charging time to gain 501km of CLTC-rated range while the battery level can be recharged from 10% to 80% in just 19 minutes.
