Oppo Find X8 series unveiled in China with camera shutter button, to launch globally soon

Oppo has unveiled its latest flagship candybar smartphones, the Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro in China. The company also mentioned that it will be launching these smartphones globally soon, although no specific dates have been mentioned just yet.

Oppo Find X8 powered by Dimensity 9400 chip

Featuring a glass sandwich design with an aluminium frame, the Oppo Find X8 measures just 7.9mm thin and 193g in weight. At the front, the Find X8 is fitted with a 6.59-inch flat LTPO OLED Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2760 x 1256 pixels. It also has a smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits when displaying HDR content.

Powering the Oppo Find X8 series is a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, depending on the variant chosen. The regular Oppo Find X8 can be had with storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB.

In the imaging department, the Oppo Find X8 series is equipped with a Hasselblad Master Camera system. This, in the case of the non-Pro Oppo Find X8, consists of a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with a Sony LYT-700 1/1.56” sensor and a 24mm equivalent lens.

Additionally, there is also a 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide angle shooter with a 15mm equivalent lens, as well as a 73mm equivalent 3x periscope 50MP f/2.6 camera with a 1/1.95″ sensor. All of this contributes to a camera hump that measures just 3.01mm in thickness, according to Oppo.

Battery-wise, the Oppo Find X8 is fitted with a 5,630mAh cell that is claimed to allow you to play 1080p HDR videos for up to 26.8 hours. Charging the battery can be done via 80W wired charging or 50W wireless charging. And oh, did I mention that the Oppo Find X8 series is also rated at IP69 & IP168 for water and dust resistance too? Both devices run on Oppo’s ColorOS 15 skin, built atop Android 15.

Oppo Find X8 Pro gets new Quick Capture button

So what extra goodies does the Find X8 Pro gain over its non-Pro sibling? For starters, the Pro phone sports a larger display, measuring 6.78 inches, with a resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels, and is slightly curved at its corners.

Like the regular model, the Find X8 Pro also sports an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz along with a 4,500-nit peak brightness. However, its battery is slightly larger at 5,910mAh, allowing it to play 1080p HDR videos for up to 29.3 hours.

On the camera side of things, the Oppo Find X8 Pro pretty much shares the same camera setup, albeit for an additional 50MP f/4.3 6x optical zoom camera.

Speaking of the camera, Oppo has also added a new iPhone 16-style Quick Capture button to the Find X8 Pro. Located on the right side of the phone, below the power button, this button allows users to capture a photo by pressing it and swiping on it to control the camera zoom.

The part where Oppo’s Quick Capture button is different from the iPhone’s is it’s fully capacitively operated. This means it doesn’t actually move when you press it, but instead provides you with vibrations for your inputs.

Oppo Find X8 series pricing in China

In China, the Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro are offered in five configurations, ranging from 12GB RAM + 256GB storage to 16GB RAM + 1TB storage. Prices for the former start at CNY4,199 (approx. RM2,568) and top at CNY4,999 (approx.RM3,057). Meanwhile, the latter can be had between CNY5,299 (approx. RM3,241) to CNY6,799 (approx. RM4,158).
