In a pivotal move that brings his journey with Tune Talk full circle, Gurtaj has increased his stake from 15.4% to 37%, now positioning him as the primary shareholder following his acquisition of shares. This transition marks Tune Talk’s evolution into a fully independent entity, granting it greater flexibility to navigate the telecommunications landscape under Gurtaj’s direction.
From Tune Talk’s early days, Gurtaj has been instrumental in transforming the company into a competitive, resilient MVNO. His return to the helm signals a renewed chapter, focused on innovation and driven by his vision to establish Tune Talk as Malaysia’s premier MVNO and a leader in digital advancements. Now unshackled and equipped with a roadmap that emphasizes expanding digital offerings and enhancing customer experience, Gurtaj is committed to piloting Tune Talk toward new industry milestones.

As one of the founders, Gurtaj played a role in launching several industry firsts, such as the pioneering numberless and off-store SIM cards and a unique feature allowing subscribers to change their numbers anytime. These innovations laid the groundwork for Tune Talk’s dedication to technology – a focus that will only intensify as Tune Talk embarks on its next chapter under Gurtaj’s leadership.
Gurtaj added, “My approach to management this time around will be grounded in grit and cadence. I have already set key actions in motion for the upcoming months, including completing the network systems migration to be fully cloud-native and relocating to a larger office space that supports team mobility and growth.”
With over 28 years in telecommunications, including significant roles at Lucent Technologies, Nokia Singapore, Tata Communications, and Boolean Tech (Ireland), Gurtaj brings extensive industry expertise and strategic vision.
