ChargEV’s DC Chargers at Gunung Semanggol, Tapah, Dengkil, Seremban and Pagoh R&Rs are now online

Just in time for the upcoming Chinese New Year holiday season, ChargEV has turned back on their newly upgraded EV charging locations along the North South Expressway (PLUS). This includes Seremban Northbound, Dengkil Southbound, Pagoh Southbound, Tapah Southbound and Gunung Semanggol Northbound R&Rs.

To recap, these locations were formerly AC charge points and they have been upgraded to faster DC chargers which are better suited for long distance EV drivers. Initially these sites went live back in October but they were shut down shortly after. Now it appears that the Charge Point Operator (CPO) has gotten the green light to resume operations.

The new ChargEV locations are covered and are equipped with Autel MaxiCharger DC units with two CCS2 nozzles. Although the hardware itself can support up to 240kW, they are currently configured to deliver only up to 47kW. Presumably, they would be able to increase the charging rate once the power supply for the locations are upgraded.

These chargers can be activated via the ChargEV, JomCharge and Gentari Go apps. Despite the lower DC charging rate, these chargers are currently priced at RM1.40 per kWh.

For those heading northbound, EV owners can top up their vehicles at Seremban Northbound R&R. Besides ChargEV, there’s also a 180kW Shell Recharge and 180kW Gentari DC charger within the same vicinity, which has two CCS2 nozzles each.

The Pagoh SB R&R charger went online back in December 2024 while the Seremban NB R&R location went live on 16th January.
