EVlution has confirmed that it has no connection to the Chargee+ unlimited EV charging plan. The company was one of the Charge Point Operators (CPOs) that was mentioned in the Chargee+ listing which made its way into various local EV communities last week.
EVlution is the first CPO to refute Chargee+ officially
In a statement published on the CPO’s Facebook and Instagram pages, EVlution said that it has no connection with the offer made by Chargee+. The company also stated that the individuals or entities behind Chargee+ have falsely used EVlution’s name to promote its unlimited EV charging membership.
As noted in our report, other CPOs that Chargee+ has mentioned in its listings include Gentari, Shell Recharge / ParkEasy, TNB Electron / Go To-U, and ChargeSini. It also claimed that ChargEV and JomCharge will be added to the offering at a later time.
What is Chargee+?
The company behind the scheme, Fazeyka Solution claimed that it can provide unlimited EV charging at chargers operated by the CPOs we mentioned earlier for just RM899 per year. Customers would be provided with login accounts from every CPO covered by Chargee+.
So, anytime the customer wants to charge their EV, all they need to do is just log in to the account that corresponds to the CPO of the charger that they are using. If the credit is depleted, the customer can reach out to the Chargee+ “rep” to have the credit replenished.
Not only that the modus operandi is rather sketchy and potentially fraudulent, but it may breach CPO’s terms and conditions. In fact, Gentari clearly said that customers should not share their passwords or allow another person to access their Gentari Go account.
According to our search, Fazeyka Solution is a web developer company that is based in the outskirts of Kuala Terengganu and is led by an individual named Fazry Haikal. The company also maintains a presence on Carousell.
Chargee+ online listings began to disappear
Meanwhile, we noticed that most of the Chargee+ listings in local EV-oriented Facebook groups disappeared after our article went live earlier this week except for several relatively inactive groups. It is unclear whether these listings were removed by the group admins or Fazry himself.
On the other hand, the Chargee+ listing on Fazeyka Solution’s Carousell page is now no longer to be found as well. The same also applies to the listing of the “discounted” Shell Recharge Gold plan.
