Mercedes-Benz has expanded its electric vehicles lineup in Malaysia by unveiling the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV. It is the first and currently the only all-electric Maybach model available in the market.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is already the highest-end model within the all-electric Mercedes EQ family but the Maybach version takes the EV to another level in terms of luxury. There has also been some increase in performance figures.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV Malaysia pricing

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV is a made-to-order bespoke vehicle which means that the actual price generally varies from unit to unit, depending on their customisation. That being said, it is available in the base specs form which goes for RM1,088,888.

According to the configurator on Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s website, the base unit for the Maybach EQS 680 SUV includes 21-inch Maybach multi-spoke light-alloy wheels and Nappa leather seats in Balao Brown Pearl or Espresso Brown as well as Manufaktur Brown walnut or birch wood trim. You can also opt for a Manufaktur Black Piano lacquer trim with flowing lines.

Mercedes-Maybach vs Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: What are the differences?

One of the biggest differences between the Maybach EQS 680 SUV and its non-Maybach counterparts is the price tag. Naturally, the non-Maybach versions are priced much lower with the starting price for the EQS 450 4Matic is RM625,888 while the EQS 580 4Matic starts at RM699,888.

There’s also the Maybach’s name on top of the grille while you can also spot Maybach’s triple M logos throughout the SUV including on the lower side intakes of the EV’s front bumper and D-pillars as well as various locations within its interior. Unlike the standard model, there is no third-row option for the Maybach variant.

This doesn’t come as a surprise as the Maybach EQS 680 SUV features the First-Class Rear seat configuration which has a front-to-back centre console and Executive seats with massage, ventilation, heating, and recline features. The rear passengers are being provided with folding tables, wireless active noise cancellation headsets, two 11.6-inch infotainment screens, a 7-inch MBUX tablet, and electric blinds.

Going slightly deeper into this luxury electric SUV, Mercedes-Benz has also replaced the usual Comfort driving mode with a dedicated Maybach preset. This particular mode focuses on delivering maximum comfort for the rear passengers by optimising the electric SUV’s Airmatic adaptive air suspension while ensuring minimal body movements under the rear seats.
