Samsung Galaxy A56, A36, A26 in Malaysia specs and features

Let’s start with design. The Samsung Galaxy A56, A36, and A26, like their predecessors, sport a design language similar to the Galaxy S25 series of flagships, with the vertically aligned camera island on their backs. Though, I can’t help but notice that these phones sort of look similar to some of the Sony Xperia models.

The three phones share quite a number of specs, including the 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display that comes with Vision Booster and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. How to differentiate between the three models from their front? Well, both the Galaxy A36 and A56 come with punchhole cameras, while the A26 gets a teardrop notch instead.

As standard, all three models come with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ panels on their front and back. Only the A56 gets an aluminium frame, with the A36 and A26 featuring a plastic one instead. IP67 rating for dust and water resistance is offered across the range, which is great.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy A56 gets the Exynos 1580 chip, while the A36 and A26 are powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and Exynos 1380 respectively.

Storage-wise, all three models are available with either 128GB or 256GB variants, and can be opted with up to 12GB of RAM, depending on the model you choose to go for.

In the battery department, you get a 5,000mAh battery across the range, with charging speeds being the primary difference. The Samsung Galaxy A26 maintains the same 25W charging speed as its predecessor, but the A36 and A56 both get a boost to 45W.

As for software, all three phones run on Samsung’s latest One UI 7, which is built atop Google’s Android 15. However, the major benefit you’re getting with the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26, is that you get up to six years of major Android OS and security updates.

You don’t get Galaxy AI, but you do get Awesome Intelligence

You can’t talk about a modern Samsung smartphone without talking about AI, right? But unfortunately, you don’t get Galaxy AI with the Samsung Galaxy A56, A36, and A26, but you do get Awesome Intelligence instead.

This package brings you features such as Circle to Search, Object Eraser, My Filter, and Edit Suggestion. The Galaxy A56 gets some additional exclusive features, including Auto Trim, Best Face, and Instant Slow-Mo.
