TNB Electron has increased its presence in the East Coast region of Peninsular Malaysia by activating its EV charger in Paka R&R Westbound. The highway rest area is the 5th TNB Electron location in the region, following R&R Paka Northbound, Petron Kg Gemuroh, Petron Selising, and Aeon Mall Kota Bharu.
Featuring a 180kW DC charger, TNB Electron Paka R&R Westbound is able to support 2 vehicles at the same time. Equipped with a dynamic charging feature, the power output will be split to 90kW per nozzle if the charging station is fully occupied.
Free charging until 28 March
TNBX, which is the TNB subsidiary that is responsible for TNB Electron operations, always celebrate the opening of a new charger with a 2-day free charging session. Things are no different for the TNB Electron R&R Paka Westbound as well.
EV owners can utilise the DC charger for free right away until 11:59 PM on 28 March 2025. Once the free period is over, the charging fee will be RM1.50 per kWh, which is slightly lower than the average DC charging fee that currently stands at RM1.60 per kWh.

The new charger can be activated using the Go To-U mobile app. It is not known at the moment whether TNBX will install a card payment terminal in Paka R&R Westbound as per Juru Setia Sentral and Aeon Mall Bukit Mertajam.
