Proton e.MAS 7 continues to top Malaysia’s EV chart, over 700 units delivered in March

Pro-Net revealed that it delivered 797 units of the Proton e.MAS 7 in March. According to the company, this has allowed the electric SUV to retain its position as the number one EV in Malaysia for the third consecutive month.

As a comparison, the first batch of Proton e.MAS 7 delivery took place in January with 421 units and was then followed by another 580 units in the following month. In total, Pro-Net has delivered over 1,800 units of the Proton e.MAS 7 within the first quarter of 2025.

The company has now forecast that Proton e. MAS 7’s Year-To-Date (YTD) market share will be 30%. In addition to Malaysia, Proton e.MAS 7 is also now available in Nepal, while the EV is currently being prepped for launch in Trinidad and Tobago.

Proton e.MAS 7 is currently available in two variants, including the e.MAS 7 Prime that is priced at RM105,800 and can deliver a WLTP-rated range of 345km as proven during Malaysia’s first-ever live EV long-distance road test. There is also the higher-end e.MAS 7 Premium which can deliver a much higher WLTP-rated range of 410km and has a price tag of RM119,800.

More than 1,000 charging sessions took place through Proton e.MAS App

In the same announcement, Pro-Net has also revealed that 1,145 charging sessions have been conducted through the Proton e.MAS App. The integrated charging ecosystem is one of the factors that differentiate the e.MAS 7 and many other EVs in Malaysia.

The Pro-Net integrated charging platform, which is also used by Smart #1 and Smart #3, allows e.MAS 7 owners to access over 90% of public chargers in Malaysia directly through the Proton e.MAS App. The platform also allows e.MAS 7 owners to locate and check the status of these chargers in real time via the app.

“Our goal is not just to sell cars. We want to nurture a complete ecosystem that not only includes 36 dealerships with DC charging points and after-sales service but also the entire Malaysian EV charging infrastructure.

We’re also working closely with CPOs to make EV ownership more convenient as we want our customers to have a seamless transition from ICE to EV, and enjoy their EV ownership experience,” – Zhang Qiang, CEO, Pro-Net.

At the moment, the platform covers more than 2,300 public charging points operated by Gentari, JomCharge, ChargEV, DC Handal, ChargeSini, Carput Zap, RExcharge, and Charge+. Also part of the ecosystem are 75 DC chargers at selected Proton, Proton e.MAS and Smart dealerships that are able to deliver DC charging speed of up to 120kW.
