Zeekr has officially revealed the exterior design of its next product, the new Zeekr 9X. This is after the company teased the arrival of the SUV last month which involved a camouflaged test unit that appeared to be doing winter testing.
The post on Zeekr’s official Weibo page said that the new model is the first Zeekr product to feature the company’s new Super Electric Hybrid (SEH) powertrain. In the same post, Zeekr also claimed that the 9x can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3 seconds.

Reports from China also noted that the 9X is the first model to come with the new G-Pilot intelligent driving solution, which is inclusive of Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities. The model, which is classified as a full-size SUV, will also feature a long-range LiDAR sensor alongside 4 supplementary short-range LiDARs.
However, other details about the new luxury SUV are still under wraps at the moment. You don’t have to wait long to know more though, as the Zeekr 9X will be making its official debut at Auto Shanghai 2025 tomorrow.
Zeekr design chief doesn’t mind the 9X vs Cullinan comparison

Before today’s revelation, the SUV had already been compared with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Some have even nicknamed the SUV as the Hangzhou Bay Cullinan, which is a reference to the location of Zeekr’s corporate headquarters.
When asked about the comparison and nickname during this evening’s Zeekr Group Night, the Head of Zeekr Design, Stefan Sielaff said that he has no problem with it. He, who is also the Vice President of Global Design at Geely Auto Group, even jokingly said that he personally feels that the 9x is “the better Cullinan in many respects”.

“Don’t get me wrong. I’m not arrogant and we have to be humble of what we have achieved in 4 years (which) is a lot.
But of course, we also have to aim for something for a higher goal, for a bigger mission. And, the 9X is only the first member of a new family of luxury cars that we are going to show in the future.
Therefore, I think it is very, very important…and I think people generally always do comparisons.” – Stefan Sielaff, Head, Zeekr Design.
Even though we are still missing plenty of details behind the new SUV, the images clearly projected one main idea: it is an absolute unit. Stay tuned for more as the Zeekr 9X will be officially revealed to the world at Auto Shanghai 2025 tomorrow.
