EXCLUSIVE: Troyan Bellisario ( Pretty Little Liars ) and Brandon Laraquente ( The Good Doctor) will host the call. Originally produced for Amazon Free, the half-hour drama will be produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television on Amazon's flagship platform Prime Video. Amazon Studios has officially announced the eight-episode project co-created by Tim Walsh and Elliott Wolff, which will be Wolff Entertainment's first streaming series and 10th ongoing scripted series overall.

On Call is a half-hour drama series that follows veteran drill officer Tracy Harmon (Bellisario) and her recruit Alex Diaz (Larraquenti) as they deal with the pitfalls of being an officer and modern police politics. – Division and Long Beach streets.

Bellisario's Tracy Harmon is a disillusioned veteran officer struggling to find his place in a unit training a new generation of officers.

Alex Diaz de Laraquente is a Hispanic high school trainee who struggles to keep his bright outlook while understanding the challenges he faces as a police officer in today's environment.

On Call originally launched on IMDb TV, Amazon's free AVOD service, which was rebranded to Amazon FreeV in spring 2021 with Ben Watkins serving as showrunner and Elliott Wolff serving as executive producer. The creative team behind the project has changed, with Walsh, formerly of Chicago Police Wolf Entertainment, and Elliott ( Dark Woods ) co-writing and executive producing. Dick Wolf's son, Elliot, has spent the past five years leading Wolf Entertainment's digital expansion, which now includes Ten Bells as the company's original series.

Dick Wolf (Law & Order, an FBI series ), Walsh, Elliot Wolf, former Chicago Police Director/Executive Producer Eric LaSalle, Arthur Forney and Peter Jankowski serve as executive producers. LaSalle is directing episodes 1, 2, 5 and 6 of the series, which recently began production in Long Beach.

Universal Television, part of the Universal Studios Group, produces products in association with Wolf Entertainment and Amazon Studios.

“Everything old will be new again. In 1958, 40 half-hour to five-hour dramas were televised. Five years later, the number has fundamentally changed,” said Dick Wolf of the 2021 half-hour drama series Ten Rings. “This is the right time to revive the half-hour format. It's the popcorn on TV. Bellisario, best known for his role on the ABC series Pretty Little Liars, will be seen opposite Cate Blanchett in Universal's comedy Sticks directed by Cheryl Nichols and in Richard Linklater's Ratched Bernadette . He also acted in, wrote, produced and directed the independent film Fed . Bellisario is represented by Gersh and Entertainment 360.

Larracuente is a regular on ABC's The Good Doctor. His other notable credits include the Netflix series Bloodline and Freeform's 13 Reasons Why and Party of Five. He is represented by A Management Company, International Artists Agency and Goodman Geno Schenkman Smelkinson + Christopher.

Universal Studios Group's recent partnerships with Amazon Studios/Prime Video On Call include Harlem , currently in its second season (Universal Television), the new 2007 series (Universal International Studios) and the recently announced series "We Were Liars" (Universal ). television).
